Your Story is Sacred
Your story is sacred and needs to be shared. It lays down the paths for others to follow.
As a counsellor, chaplain, soul companion, spiritual guide, and friend, I have listened to many stories that others have shared with me. They have been searching for the reason(s) that hard ships, trauma, and joy have happened to them.
They have shared with me some of their most deepest secrets, their soul’s desires, and the struggles that they have endured. A lot of these people have said to me that they never thought their story was of any importance and “who would want to listen to what they have been through anyway.”
Most of the people I have sat with have been first responders, military, doctors, nurses, paramedics and people from all ages who are transitioning to another life. Some of them have been the frontline workers who have seen tragedy every day. They have seen the cruelty of how people can be mean, violent, and hateful towards others. They have tried to save people from the depths of their own despair and at times have seen these people slip away.
Through all these experiences these brave people have been searching for a life of meaning and purpose. They have lost track of how the experience is shaping them into a resilient soul guardian who is serving as a witness for so many.
They have forgotten who they are. Their story has been misplaced in the midst of chaos, grief and despair.
And it isn’t until they take a step back, reflect, and come to realize they need a witness who will listen without judgment to the story that is their narrative. The story that has shaped their life, the story that is intertwined in between each cell of their body.
Like the ancient elders of long ago the story becomes the life experience passed down from one to another. The story is their legacy!
