About Me

Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone — we find it with another.

Debra Kine
MA, MAMS, DSD, RCC, CCTP-11
Debra Kine has dedicated 15 years of her life to working with First Responders. Before opening up her practice, she served as the Director of Trauma and Spiritual Care at a Treatment Centre located on Vancouver Island. Debra's passion lies in helping those who are struggling with addiction and trauma.
She also worked at St. Mike’s Hospital and McMaster Hospital in Toronto. She held various positions working on the pediatrics ICU floor at McMaster, and at St. Mike’s, she worked on the oncology/palliative care floor and the HIV floor. Her role primarily included supporting families after the loss of a loved one, providing grief counselling, facilitating memorials and funerals, and providing end-of-life care.
Working at St. Michael's Hospital, a major trauma hospital in Toronto, had a significant impact on her life and would pave the way for a career helping those suffering from PTSD and trauma. She obtained her degrees from McMaster University and the University of Toronto. She received her trauma training from Bessel Van der Kolk, a renowned trauma researcher and best-selling author, and continues her studies with him to this day. Debra has also trained under the guidance of Stephen Porges, Peter Levine, Janina Fisher, Caroline Myss, Robert Ohotto, and Leslie Korn. She is a Spiritual Director and Chaplain Specialist and holds certifications in Integrative Medicine and Nutrition for PTSD and Complex Trauma and Clinical Trauma Professional level 2. Additionally, she is a Reiki and Healing Touch Practitioner.
Outside of work, Deb is an avid nature lover and enjoys hiking with her dog Bleu, riding horses, and mountain biking. She is an avid reader and has been referred to as belonging to “Amazon’s Book of the Week club.” She is always updating her training and education and loves to learn.
